What this is

Ward Round is a free tool for UK healthcare professionals. Its front page is an anonymous structured medication review: you enter clinical parameters — never identifiers — and it works through the patient, the drug chart, the labs and the plan, showing what it concluded and why. The calculators underneath it are the same engines used one at a time.

Everything is built around a simple contract: every tool shows the exact equation it uses, the primary literature behind it, a short UK practice note (NICE/BNF context), and its known limitations.

How formulas are verified

• Each formula is taken from the primary publication, cross-checked against at least one independent reputable source.
• Unit conversions (e.g. µmol/L ↔ mg/dL creatinine) are applied automatically and shown explicitly.
• Every calculation is covered by automated tests with hand-computed reference values.
• Each tool displays the date its formula and citations were last verified.
• That date is enforced, not decorative: the test suite fails if any clinical module is missing a verification date, carries an impossible one, or has gone more than a year without being re-checked against source.

Privacy

All calculations run in your browser. No patient-identifiable data is collected, transmitted or stored.

A review in progress is held in the browser tab you are working in, so that a refresh or an accidental back gesture does not destroy it. That copy is scoped to the single tab: it is not visible to other tabs, not left for the next person on a shared computer, and the browser discards it when the tab closes. A control in the step rail clears it immediately. Nothing is written to disk for later, and nothing is sent anywhere.
