What this is

UKMedCalc is a free collection of clinical calculators designed for UK healthcare professionals. It is built around a simple contract: every tool shows the exact equation it uses, the primary literature behind it, a short UK practice note (NICE/BNF context), and its known limitations.

How formulas are verified

  • Each formula is taken from the primary publication, cross-checked against at least one independent reputable source.
  • Unit conversions (e.g. µmol/L ↔ mg/dL creatinine) are applied automatically and shown explicitly.
  • Every calculation is covered by automated tests with hand-computed reference values.
  • Each tool displays the date its formula and citations were last verified.

UK guideline notes and copyright

UK practice notes are short original summaries written for this site, with links to the relevant NICE guidance, BNF sections and official resources. BNF and NICE content is not reproduced. Always consult the full current guidance.
